Link A Wagemaster File To An Agrimaster File

This article is for users who are trying to link their Wagemaster file to an Agrimaster file. You can watch our video tutorial below:


There are 2 ways of linking the file:

  1. Link the Wagemaster file from File Manager (existing customers on older versions).
  2. Link the Wagemaster file from your local drive (new customers).

Link A Wagemaster File From File Manager 

Please Note
New customers can skip to the next step. 

  1. Login to File Manager.
  2. Ensure your Wagemaster file is closed.
  3. Ensure you have licensed your Agrimaster file to an Agrimaster-Plus subscription.
  4. Click on the Agrimaster file you wish to link the Wagemaster file to.
  5. Click on the Link orange banner.

  6. You will be presented with two options.
    • If you have been using File Manager to back up your Wagemaster file in the past, the file will appear (i.e. as shown below). Click on the Link icon to choose the correct file to link to your Agrimaster-Plus subscription.

  7. A message will appear to confirm your Wagemaster file has been linked successfully.  The file will then appear as backed up in File Manager. 
  8. File Manager will rename the Wagemaster file to be exactly the same as the Agrimaster-Plus subscription. 
  9. Once the Wagemaster file is re-named correctly, it will appear as licensed and have a Backed Up status in File Manager. Open the renamed Wagemaster file to check if the data from the previous file is present.

  10. You will notice in the File Manager home screen, the incorrectly named Wagemaster file appears with Local status. We strongly recommend you delete this version of the file to avoid any confusion.  

Important

Once the above is done and the Wagemaster file is showing a Backed Up status in File Manager. You should delete the Wagemaster icon from your desktop.

Link The Wagemaster File From Your Local Drive (New Customer) 

  1. Login to File Manager.
  2. Ensure your Wagemaster file is closed.
  3. Ensure you have licensed your Agrimaster file to an Agrimaster-Plus subscription.
  4. Click on the Agrimaster file you wish to link the Wagemaster file to.
  5. Click on the Link orange banner.

  6. You will be presented with two options.
    • If you are a new customer or have not been using File Manager to open and backup the Wagemaster file, or if your file did not appear as per the screenshot above, you are required to upload the Wagemaster file from File Explorer.
  7. Ensure you have 'View Hidden Files' selected in File Explorer. Click here for instructions. 
  8. Click on the Select icon to search the directory where the Wagemaster file is saved.

  9. If you cannot find your Wagemaster file, please search in C:\Users\Public\Wage Easy Payroll\mirror and open your user number folder to find the file.

  10. If you don't know the path of the Wagemaster file, open Wagemaster on desktop and you should be able to see the file path at the bottom left of the screen as below.

  11. Once you know the path, go back to File Manager to link the Wagemaster file by uploading it.
  12. Click on the Select icon to search the directory where the Wagemaster file is saved.
  13. Click Upload.

  14. A message will appear to confirm the Wagemaster file linked successfully.  The file will then appear as backed up in File Manager. 
  15. File Manager will rename the Wagemaster file to be exactly the same as the Agrimaster-Plus subscription. 
  16. Once the Wagemaster file is renamed correctly, it will appear as licensed and have a Backed Up status in File Manager. Open the renamed Wagemaster file to check if the data from the previous file is present.

If a Wagemaster file name differs from the Agrimaster subscription name the following occurs: 

  • The Wagemaster file will appear as a Local File status and unlicensed in File Manager. It will not appear grey like Agrimaster files, instead of white like a licensed Agrimaster file. 
  • As a once-off action, you will be required to manually link the Wagemaster file in File Manager. 
  • Once you link the file, the Wagemaster file will be renamed to align with the Agrimaster-Plus subscription name.  
  • The renamed Wagemaster file will contain all the data as per the old Wagemaster file and be backed up to File Manager. 
  • You will need to delete the old file as there will be two copies of the same Wagemaster file, one on the old name, the second matching to the Agrimaster name. 
    Please Note
    You will have to reinstate any shares you previously had for your Wagemaster file. For instructions on how to do share a file, click here

Important

Once the above is done and the Wagemaster file is showing a Backed Up status in File Manager. You should delete the Wagemaster icon from your desktop.
