Agrimaster uses an Indirect Bank Feeds connection.
What is the difference between the two?
Direct Bank Feeds means you have an agreement directly with the bank. The bank provides an API and it is the role of the development team to maintain the relationship with the bank and make any changes if the bank decides to update its API. This can lead to downtime with the program and can cause disruptions in support if there are frequent changes.
Indirect Bank Feeds means there is an intermediary, usually a trusted and reputable company that handles the connection with the bank. These arrangements can sometimes use a technology called screen scraping that can lead to some inaccuracies in data retrieval. To find out more about this please click here.
Why isn't Agrimaster Direct?
Indirect bank accounts use an intermediary to provide the connection. It requires a significant amount of infrastructure, technology, maintenance and user base if we were to use a direct connection with most banks. We will be looking into this in the future.
What provider do you use?
Agrimaster uses a third-party provider for our Bank Feeds service. Our provider is Illion who is the leading independent provider of trusted data and analytics products and services in Australasia.
