This is an important and mandatory release.
This release contains the following changes:
- New features related to the JobMaker Hiring Credit scheme
- New User-Defined Query for the JobMaker Hiring Credit scheme
- STSL tax table pdl with changes for 2021-22 financial year
- Changes to ETP lower cap and tax-free redundancy and early retirement payments (pdl file)
- STP Validation corrections – removed the ability to report to ATO when invalid data is present such as negative values, invalid employee TFN’s, unsigned declarations
- Correction to STP reporting of Allowances from deleted payslips
- Period Overtime correction when leave entries cross weeks in a pay period
- Correction to error when running HR>Leave Applications Query (Employees birthday is required)
- Closely Held Payees – Employee option
- Closely Held Payees - STP Update reporting filter functionality
- Updated EOFY boundaries messaging
- ESS dashboard – removal of leave reject option
- Correction to user-defined Employee Visa Status reports
- Other general product fixes and enhancements to databases.
JobMaker changes – Checkbox added to Employee screen and New Employee Wizard
New checkboxes have been added to the New Employee Wizard and Employee > Employment
screens for the JobMaker Hiring Credit Scheme. These checkboxes can be ticked to identify
employees hired because of the JobMaker Hiring Credit scheme. Employees with the JobMaker
checkbox ticked are included in the results of the new, User Defined Query, JobMaker Hiring
Credit 2.0
User-Defined Reports – Last Quarter reporting functionality fix
User-Defined Report fix to reporting of Last Quarter date range. In instances where the Last Quarter date range is selected to be reported on, in some circumstances, an error was resulting. The report now runs without error.
Employee Birthday – removed the ability to delete
The ability to delete the mandatory data field for Employee Birthday has been removed. A message has been added to advise that an Employee’s birthday is required.
The release includes an updated tax table (pdl) file with changes for STSL calculations for the 2021-22 financial year. Changes to ETP lower cap and tax-free redundancy and early retirement payments (pdl file)

STP Validation corrections
Where invalid data is present, such as negative values, invalid employee TFN’s, unsigned declarations, the ability to ‘Report to ATO’ has been removed. STP Status message provides details of invalid data requiring correction before ATO submission can be completed.
Correction to STP reporting of Allowances deleted from payslips
Where a deleted payslip contained STP reportable allowances, these allowances continued to be STP reported. This has been corrected so that the allowance no longer appears in STP reporting.
Closely Held Payees – Employee option
A Closely Held Payee is an individual who is directly related to the business entity from which they receive payments. They can be a family member of a family business, directors or shareholders of a company or beneficiaries of a trust.
From 1 July 2021, closely-held payee information needs to be STP reported to the ATO.
To assist with this requirement, New checkbox added to the Employee file, Payments>Tax for Closely Held Payees

Updated EOFY boundaries messaging
Removal of EOFY example dates from messaging
ESS dashboard – removal of leave reject option
The reject leave option is no longer available within the ESS leave import wizard so as to stop leave sitting unprocessed and ‘Not Yet Paid’ in ESS.
Period Overtime correction when leave crosses weeks in a pay period
Award Period Overtime was not captured when leave crosses weeks in the pay period and is contained in a single entry
Correction to error when running HR>Leave Applications Query (Employees birthday is required)
Recent change mandating the entry of employee birthday in Employee file (Employee>General>Birthday), saw invalid employee birthday message come up when running HR> Leave Applications and drill down to employee individual leave application
Correction to user defined Employee Visa Status reports
User Defined Reports - Employee Visa Status and Employee Visa Status (Excludes Terminated Emps) now showing all employees when they have the same surname.
After you Upgrade
After the upgrade is installed, you should check that the correct software and database versions are displayed. If the latest version numbers are not as displayed below, Wagemaster may not have been successfully upgraded.
To check the version of Wagemaster, The version number is displayed on the bottom right hand corner of the main Wagemaster screen.
After you have upgraded and opened your database, you can also check the version number by going to Help > About Wage Easy Payroll.Your new database version number after the upgrade should be 7.6.0.8326
