Working with Client files - A guide for Accountants, Consultants & Banks

Open - Read Only

Why:

You just need to review and report on a client file without adding or making any changes.

How do you do it:

  1. Select the file you want to open
  2. Click on the pink down arrow
  3. Select Open-Read Only

How does it work:

  1. When you open the file in READ ONLY the file opens and copies the file to a temporary location on your local PC.
  2. When you have finished and closed the file Agrimaster deletes the temporary file and it is NOT uploaded to File Manager.

Open & EDIT

Why:

You need to make changes to the client's file. Cashbook, Budgeting, Reporting

How to Open and Edit:

  1. Open File Manager
  2. Select the file you want to open
  3. Click on the pink down arrow
  4. Select Open and Edit  (File Manager will lock editing permissions for all other users that have edit access to the file)
  5. When you have finished working on the file close the file.
QUIT Agrimaster and the file will upload the new copy to File Manager and make it available to other users.

How does EDIT work:

  1. When you open the file in EDIT Mode File Manager downloads the file to the client's private folder in your local work directory and locks the file to stop other users using it at the same time.
  2. When you have finished and closed the file. Agrimaster uploads the client's file to File Manager and unlocks the file to make it available to other users.
