A location can be useful if you have assets being use or stored in more than one place. This can assist in finding the assets later when auditing your assets.
Add a Location
To add a new location:
- From the Home Page
- Click Assets & Stock
- Click Asset Register
- The Asset Register opens. Click the Add New
or Edit
button
- The Set Asset Details window opens. Click the Edit button to the right of Location
- The Asset List dialogue box will open
- Select Enter New Location in the Choose Location to Modify dialogue box
- Enter the new location in the Location Name
- Click the green tick to save the new entry
- Click the black cross to return to the Set Asset Details window
Edit a Location
To edit a location:
- On the Asset Register, select the asset to be edited
- Click the Edit
button
- The Set Asset Details window opens. Click on the Edit button to the right of the Location field
- The Asset List window opens
- Under Choose Location to Modify, click the dropdown arrow and select the location to modify
- Under the Edit Location, enter the new name in the Location Name field
- Click the green tick
to save the changes
- On the Set Asset Details window, click on the black cross
to exit and return to the Asset Register window
Deactivate a Location
Once a location has been used in the Asset Register, it cannot be deleted. It is possible to remove it from the dropdown menu by making the location inactive.
To make a location inactive:
- At the Set Asset Details window, click the Edit
button to the right of the Location
- The Asset List window opens
- Select the location you wish to deactivate in the Choose Location to Modify dropdown box
- Untick the Is Active? checkbox
- Click the green tick
to save the changes
- Click the black cross
to close the window and return to the Asset Register window
