Asset Departments / Groups

A department/group can be useful if an asset belongs to a particular area of the farm e.g. it is a piece of machinery only used for cropping. This is useful if you want to be able to report assets by department. 

Add a new department/group

To add a new department or group:

  1. From the Home page, click Assets & Stock 
  2. Click Asset Register 
  3. The Asset Register will open. Click the Edit  button 

  4. The Asset List window opens 

    • Select Enter New Group from the Choose Group to Modify dropdown box 
    • Enter the new group name in the Group Name box
    • Click the green tick  to save the new entry
    • Click the black cross  to return to the Set Asset Details window

Edit a Department/Group

To edit a department/group:

  1. Click the Edit  button to open the Asset List window

     

  2. Select the group to modify in the Choose Group to modify field
  3. Make the changes in the Edit Group dialogue box
  4. Click the green tick  to save the changes
  5. Click the black cross  to exit and return to the Set Asset Details window

Deactivate a Department/Group

Once a department/group has been used in the Asset Register, it cannot be deleted.  It is possible to remove it from the dropdown menu but you cannot remove it from the Asset Register.

To make a department/group inactive: 

  1. Open the Asset List by clicking the Edit  button
  2. Select the department/group you wish to deactivate in the Choose Group to modify dropdown window
  3. Untick the Is Active? checkbox

     

  4. Click the green tick to save the changes
  5. Click the black cross to close the window and return to the Set Asset Details window 

Delete a Department/Group

A department/ group can only be deleted if it has not been used as an asset detail.

To delete a department/group:

  1. Click the Location Edit  button to open the Asset List window
  2. Select the department/group to remove in the Choose Group to Modify field

     

  3. Click the Delete  button to remove the entry
  4. Click green tick  to save the changes
  5. Click black cross  to exit and return to the Set Asset Details window
